Perspective : how it started

Strangely, this series of photographs started out as a mistake. I was playing around with some of my camera settings while walking around near the Porto Cathedral. I saw a photographic opportunity, took the picture, my shutter went of three times, and I thought that I had messed up a really nice frame. Ended up taking another one with the correct setting. When I looked back on both pictures, I ended up loving the first one I took.

It got me thinking… sometimes the most beautiful things are rooted in what we think are mistakes.

And so, I wrote it down, in French, and then the rest of the poem followed.

In the end, the perspective series is just me, standing in the present and realizing all the experiences that broke me also brought me beautiful things. I wouldn’t change any of them.
